Better known for Lutheran churches than modern architecture, Minnesota became a leader in Modernism in the decades following WWII. We all think of Frank Lloyd Wright, but there was also William Purcell and George Grant Elmslie. And of course the U’s School or Architecture that led the Modernist movement with such great minds as Carl Graffunder, Robert Cerny, Jack Liebenberg and Ralph Rapson.
